SAN JOSE, Calif. – Cisco announced that it is expanding the industry's broadest
portfolio of small business technology with new solutions to
help small businesses connect their business to the world,
secure their network and communicate more effectively. New
technologies include a family of energy-efficient, unmanaged
switches and a wireless virtual private network (VPN) firewall
that small businesses can easily install themselves, as well as
customer premises equipment that can enable service providers to

Cisco announces the end-of-sale and end-of life dates for the Cisco® Unified Communications Manager Version 6.1. The last day to order the affected product(s) is September 3, 2010. Customers with active service contracts will continue to receive support from the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) as shown in the Cisco EoL bulletin. For customers with active and paid service and support contracts, support will be available until the termination date of the contract, even if this date exceeds the Last Date of Support shown in the Cisco EoL Bulletin.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager is the call-processing component of the Cisco Unified Communications System. This scalable, distributable, highly available enterprise-class system delivers voice, video, mobility, and presence services. It connects up to 60,000 users of IP phones, media-processing devices, VoIP gateways, mobile devices, and multimedia applications. Customers on the Version 6.1 platform or earlier may upgrade to Version 8.0.
